About me…

I love journalistic photograph, it’s real and catches those sweet moments you don’t typically get with traditional portraits. I love working with children and families and find that my love of this shows in my work.  It is my goal to fade into the background and allow the family, children, loved ones, and event to unfold in front of me.  I find that this results in the most honest photography. I want my clients to be themselves in every shot.  I want my clients to feel as comfortable in front of the camera as I am behind it.  I am not happy unless the shot is not only beautiful- but natural.

I love shooting on location and vow to never own a studio.

I am a mother of 3 fantastic children, a wife of the most amazing man and I love my pets.

I took one photography class in college…the rest is self taught.

I love seeing life through my lens and am thankful for every shot I have of my family and friends.

I hate using a flash and will refuse unless otherwise impossible without it.

The only time I am quiet is when my wheels are turning on a session.

Along with being a mother, I have been a nanny for most of my life.

Kids are very unpredictable and REAL and that is what I love about them. I will suggest things and welcome your suggestions during a shoot but tend to shoot them just  being them…sometimes, like the weather, they don’t always cooperate. Don’t worry, if it doesn’t pass we can always reschedule.  I can come to your home or favorite hot spot, or suggest some places if needed. Please be prepared for about 2 hours worth of shooting….maybe more!  Relax…enjoy them being silly…and let’s get those little faces on film before they are all grown up!

*Props to Lauren Schwarz for capturing me in front of the camera…and not in sweat pants!*
